Some of that GoodWood…

26 04 2009

Now that I have your attention….

Good Wood in NYC is one of my favorite accessories stores online.  One visit to their online store and I was hooked. It features earrings, necklaces, and hand carved knuckle rings. Yezzir, I did say they have knuckle rings. It happens to be their stamp product. I just checked again and it looks like you can submit requests for a customized knuckle ring of your saying/design. These are all hand carved out of real wood by Kerri O’Connell (designer/founder) and her team. It’s so reasonably priced for something so unique, so original, so Hip Hop, and so fashionable. How can you possibly hate on these? Hey if you think you can rock them, then rock ‘em all the way. Here are couple of my faves…

Transformer, Star Wars, and Pegasus in accessories

6 04 2009

Found some fun and interesting fashion related items today and couldn’t wait to share. Check these out!

Transformer fan? Can you believe these are Silver Plated Transformer Cufflinks? This creative designer had the Decepticon and Autobot image engraved in cufflinks…I checked out this particular design and unfortunately they are sold out for now. There is a silver and red one though,  it’s linked to this photo.

And check out these storm trooper cufflinks for you Star Wars fans.

And I absolutely love these Pegasus Earrings!

Hard cover wallets and cute clutches

22 07 2008

I had a fashion accessory addiction that came about a lil over a year ago. I was in search for a good solid and very vintage like wallet that wouldn’t bend so much or allow me to stuff all those dang receipts in there. I was also looking for something that would help me organize my business cards, credit cards, and money. So I discovered that those fabric covered, hard cover wallets with metal clasp hinges were what I was looking for. Now they are all over the place and you can find them almost anywhere. So here are a couple of great ones I found at forever21.com. which by far has the most reasonable prices and the most selection. These are more of a mixture of wallets and clutch purses:

Left to right: Devaun Faux Leather Wallet $12.80, Manhattan Wallet $12.80, Floral Med. Hinge Wallet $9.80

Left to right: Metal Floral Wallet $5.80, Bella Clutch $15.80, Basketweave Wallet $10.80

Must Have Accessories for Women

13 07 2008

There are just some things that a girl has got to have for those days where nothing else works. You know, those days where everything you put on doesn’t look right or is just missing something. Well, I listed a couple of must haves that women with an urban taste shouldn’t do without. And with that list, I found some good deals for them online. Here they are:

1 .) A great hat! It can be a paperboy hat, a fashionable knitted beanie, and in this case I chose the slouchy ribbed beanie. Get a basic color to match anything or a bright color to throw your look off a lil. Either way, having a great hat is a terrific life saver for those days where your hair just can’t be priority. I’m such a hat freak so I love wearing them to complete any look.

Slouchy Ribbed Beanie now $9.99 (was $28.00) at Urban Outfitters.

2.) A great scarf! Scarves are in in in and are a terrific accessory to any urban look. This year they take shape of square printed scarves. You can get them in bright patterns or a sophisticated print. I have a collection of these that I can just throw on to any outfit and it just tops it off. Very useful in places like San Francisco ( the weather can turn on you any second!).

Printed Lurex Square Scarf $9.99 (was $20) at UrbanOutfitters.com.

3.) A big ol’ bag to hold your life in. Bags aren’t just for holding stuff. When you buy a bag, think of it as an addition to your outfits. Be practical and don’t try to get one for every outfit. Since I wear alot of browns, I chose this one. It just always looks right. I love the spaciousness and the convenience of it. Big bag…definite must have.

Retro Tab Hobo for $15.80 at Forever21.com.

4.) Accessories/Jewelry. Earrings aren’t as important as the above but they do add that umph that can really just do something to your look. I prefer really ethnic, colorful, big earrings. The ones below are just basics that can probably look great with a bunch of outfits. Good investment.

Hoop and Stud Super Set $4.80 at Forever21.com.

5.) Flats! Gotta have flats. They’re a relief on your feet and can be incredibly fashionable. Throw them on to match any outfit with skinny jeans, a dress, etc. I think of it as a cross between sneakers and heels. Just a way to dress up without the pain of heels. Save those heels for the club….or work I guess. Another suggestion would be to get kitten heels. They’re short heels that meet you halfway to flats.

Gem Woven Wedge for $19.99 at Payless.com.
