Kanye West x Nike: Air Yeezys

If you haven’t heard by now, Nike just released their latest collab with artist Kanye West this past weekend. The Air Yeezy’s sell for a retail suggested price of $215.00. Yikes. But with it being so much in demand, retailers have even been charging more than the suggested retail price. You can bet that fans and shoe addicts have camped out for this one.

It’s well known that Nike has collaborated with athletes in creating quite a few of their models.  They have also collabed with music artists on custom versions as well. Now, I’m not a Nike collector but I’m pretty sure I have yet to see a recording artist come out with a collection of their very own model with Nike, until now. I could recall Eminem, but that was just twist on a already existing model. Anyway, so I can see how this is a big deal. On the other hand, and of course this is my personal opinion, I wouldn’t pay $215 for these. Especially now! Something about the plastic straps just interrupts the aesthetics of the design. And something about my pockets just doesn’t feel like payin that much for a shoe…any shoe. Face it though, recession or not, shoe addicts are probably payin up for them.

Sneaker Sale

Here are some sneakers I found on sale at DrJays.com and one super cheap one from Karmaloop.com. They usually have alot more for men. When it comes to buying sneakers, I like classic designs and fun colors. I like to choose sneakers that match more than one outfit. You don’t have to spend a ton on some super trendy sneaker. They get out of season just like clothes…but not as fast.

Rugged Street II Chukka by Timberland on sale for $29.99 (was $85). Maspeth Sneaker by Zoo York on sale for 45.99 (was $58). The Pro Legacy RBC in White & Silver Multi Sneakers By Reebok on sale at Karmaloop.com for $4.95 (was $99.00…that’s a 95% saving!) If there is that much savings…sometimes that means they have limited sizes, have had it for a while and are trying to get rid of it. But check it out anyway…it’s a pretty cool shoe.

The New Hyperdunk from Nike

Have you guys seen the new Hyperdunk from Nike? This is for you serious b-ballers and athletes out there…There’s some crazy technology in this shoe. The design of the shoe is suppose to fit you like a second skin…it uses lightweight fibers and support, cutting the actual weight of the shoe in half. Here’s a fun widget from Nike for the Hyperdunk!
