Fab Under Thirty Bucks…

7 07 2008

In today’s economy, being fashionable can be more of a luxury than ever before. It’s definitely something that some people have to sacrifice in order to stay within budget…yeah-right. I don’t think so. Sure, you cannot go buying the new jordans or the latest minolos. But you can still look good, damnit. And you can do it for $30.00 bucks or less. Each piece in your outfit, by the way, should be able to mix and match with the rest of your closet. That’s how you really get more bang for your buck. Here are three outfits I put together, just by browsing the sales tab at my favorite online places to shop. This one happens to be Wetseal.com. The clothes there can be suitable for teens to even your later thirties if you know how to keep in taste to your maturity. I, myself, am 26 going on 27 soon so I can’t go lookin like a bopper at the mall. Anyway, here are some cute outfits under $30.00. You heard right.

OUTFIT #1: Something casual but fun. When using the skirt for another outfit, you can tuck in the top or place it over the high waist. The skirt can be very funcitonal. Total $23.00.

Racerback Pink Houndstooth Tank for 12.50.

High Waisted Denim Mini on sale this week for $9.99 (was $21.50)

OUTFIT #2: Something for a night out with the girls or your favorite guy. Total $18.00

Red Tie sleeve dress, on sale this week for $10.00 (was 12.50)

40″ Multi Bead Cord Necklace $8.00

OUTFIT #3: Sophisticated and sexy. To put together a different outfit, the vest can be matched with jeans or a pencil skirt. And the high waist shorts can be used the same way the skirt in outfit #1 can be used. Total $28.00

Front Tie Vest was on sale this week for $12.99 (was 21.50)

High Waist Pull-on Shorts on sale this week for 14.99 (was 18.50)

Take that shirt two sizes down…or three.

I have been waiting sooo long to write about this. Why did I wait? I have no idea. But this is my ultimate pet peeve about the way young folks dress nowadays. Mostly young men and young boys. And if this pertains to you, please take no offense…it’s for your own good. Now…why….oh why….would you wear something that makes you look like you are wearing a dress?!!! I am talking about those horrible horrible “tall tees.” There is a reason why they call it that. It’s for tall people. With long torsos maybe. Here’s a great example. (Sorry for the dude in it, I had to borrow it to set this example).

Omg, so now look wear the end of the shirt actually reaches for the dude on the right. That is actually right pass the knees. This person is already tall enough to fit a regular tall tee, but this dude had to take it 4x larger. They have up to 4XL available! Can you believe that?! It looks like a mumu. A duster. The long sleeves makes you look like a t-rex. It’s loose and does not flatter at all. Maybe it needs to be that low to cover the bare butt caused by the super low sagging pants. I don’t know. I swear, I really don’t get it. I went to the mall today and there were a group of six grown men walking around with dark shades (did I mention we were in the mall) dressed like this. I don’t know who they’re tryin to impress but they sure got the people’s attention. I saw raised eyebrows and even heard snickers. I’m sure that wasn’t the impression they were trying to make. Going to the movies I saw a young man wearing his pants so low he had to walk all wierd…you know that side ways, bend at the knees walk. Ridiculous. Now here is something a little more flattering, very appropriate, still real hot, and will turn heads the right way! So notice how it’s right at the hip. It’s okay if it’s a lil’ longer, but please, if it is pass where your hands lay down your side, it’s too long! This one is from Hippo Esthetics by the way.
